PHOTOS: Recently Installed Tomorrowland Art Removed, New Furniture Arrives at Remodeled Lobby of Disney’s Contemporary Resort

It’s been less than two months since the Contemporary resort debuted a newly reimagined lobby featuring the art of Mary Blair. Now the space is seeing changes to the furniture and art work.

In the seating area across from the bell services desk, the wall mural featuring the Monorail traveling through the resort is still there. Some of the furniture is different.

The chairs in this area have been switched out. The new chairs are white with a red cloth section on the back support. They appear to be faux-leather.

Around the corner is another small seating area. A photo of Mary Blair with her Contemporary Resort mural hangs on the wall, surrounded by more of her artwork, including the art that would’ve been found in guest rooms back in 1971.

The furniture in this area is mostly unchanged except for these kid’s chairs.

Previously, the chairs in this spot looked more like little stools. The new chairs are the same color, but have some back support.

New softer chairs have replaced the wood versions in Contemporary Grounds, the resort’s Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company.

The Tomorrowland concept art for Disneyland no longer hangs behind the table. Instead, there are three pieces showing images of what the resort may have looked like in 1971.
