PHOTO REPORT: Magic Kingdom & Disney’s Hollywood Studios 7/14/21 (Large Crowds, Last Sorcerer’s Keyhole Removed, New Props Added To Jungle Cruise Queue, and More)

Hello from another lovely day here at Walt Disney World! We had a mostly hot and dry day, but the bit of rain that we did get was quite intense. We managed to stay dry, though, and find some things to show you, so let’s get started!

While we have noticed a slow and steady increase in crowds recently, especially around holiday weekends, today we saw what seemed to be a sudden increase in attendance. This was the crowd of guests as those waiting for rope drop filled the bridge and spilled into the Hub area of Magic Kingdom. We were surprised to see so many people here so early on a Wednesday!

In Tomorrowland, the final iconic gear in the pavement on the walk into the land has been cut up and replaced with new concrete.

We saw another project come to a close as the last keyhole tap point for the now-defunct Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom portals was removed last night.

The times are ever-changing with more changes to the Jungle Cruise queue. The first themed portion as you enter the queue was completely overhauled last night, with old props removed and new food-themed props put in place.

The office in the queue, which sat empty for a few days, was also filled last night with props.

We also noticed a new saying, “Once a skipper, always a skipper!” painted onto the ceiling beams in the auxiliary queue. For more pictures and information on all of these changes, check out our article here.

Around 10 a.m., we took a look down Main Street, USA, and were surprised to see that it was still flooded with guests entering the park for the day. There was a definite increase in crowds today in our experience.

Over the last several weeks, each cavalcade one by one has become temporarily unavailable as it underwent maintenance. Today we noticed that “A Goofy Cavalcade,” the “Mickey & Friends Cavalcade,” and the “Magic Kingdom Cavalcade” were all using the same float, whereas in the past, each would have its own individual float. We suspect this allows these cavalcades to remain in rotation while the floats undergo maintenance or refurbishment.

While on Main Street, USA, we noticed that the Jerrod Maruyama balloons had finally made their way to the Magic Kingdom.

Not only had they finally arrived, but they are now available filled with a white Mickey head balloon.

After we finished up at the Magic Kingdom, we headed over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to see what new things we could find there. On our way, we spotted a Minnie Van on the road around Disney property, although the Minnie Van service is not available to guests and has been confirmed to be retired.

  1. Seems odd that a belt with the old Disneyland “D” is available at Walt Disney World. But if it was being sold on Shop Disney, I’d buy it in a heartbeat (Disneyland is my home park, where I worked for about six years).
