Orange County Florida Health Department Reports Rise in COVID Cases and Emergency Room Visits

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings announced at a conference yesterday that the 14-day rolling positivity rate has grown to 5.99%, a 1.98 point increase from the June 28 update.

Mayor Demmings removed COVID restrictions when the positivity rate dropped below 5%. It is currently unknown if any restrictions or mandates will be reinstated due to the recent increases.

Dr. Raul Pino noted that the number of cases grew every day over the last week and the highest percentage of cases occurred in those aged 15-34. Related ER visits have also increased. Unvaccinated individuals accounted for approximately 95% of positive tests and hospital visits.

Orange County, Florida, is home to both Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort. Both resorts have eliminated almost all COVID-19 safety measures originally enacted in 2020.

  1. And if Covid didn’t exist, they’d say it was the flu or summer cold or allergies…time to end the scam across the globe.

    • Anyone going to a very crowded park and sharing space with people who may be carrying a new variant that the vaccines don’t protect you from.

  2. Latest news shows that the delta variant, and its variants (delta plus, delta 4, delta 47) will be the dominant strain in Florida very soon, possibly this week. So far the vaccines seem to be resistant, but the Pfizer vaccine is less effective.

  3. 95% of unvaccinated are the positive cases huh. Well I guess they’ll get to herd immunity the old fashioned way.

  4. Like hell they’ll roll back the restrictions. Those poor CMs and the irate guests… I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.

  5. “Unvaccinated individuals accounted for approximately 95% of positive tests and hospital visits.” Very interesting. That should give more people the incentive to vaccinate. Also, it shows that vaccinated people still have a chance of getting covid, to the point of having to visit the hospital.

  6. It’s called herd immunity. It’s also a chance you take for not opting to get vaccinated. The government should have NO place in implementing any more restrictions. Haven’t we learned anything from 2020 and the harm government can do for “the common good.” Demmings and all politicians should just shut up and move on to doing what they were elected to do – to serve the people, not rule them.
