Welcome to a beautiful, sunny day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. It’s been pretty overcast and cool the last few days, so it was a nice change to see bright blue skies and high temperatures. We arrived at Universal Studios Florida and began to browse the face masks in hopes of finding a “Jaws” or “Back to the Future” mask that might match some of the other new retro designs, but we discovered something disappointing instead. The price of face coverings has been raised from $6 to $8 each, or 3 for $20.
It’s a big price increase overnight, and we wish we’d picked up a few more yesterday.
It was busy around the park for a Tuesday. The nice weather and the fact that Volcano Bay is closed on Tuesdays probably contributed to the crowds.
Several of the food carts were open this afternoon that are typically only available on weekends.
When we got to Springfield, a Team Member was greeting guests passing by and offering coupons for a free game. You wouldn’t receive a prize if you won, but they wanted to encourage guests to play and have some fun. The Team Member was also very helpful in explaining which games were suitable for a single player, which was much appreciated.
The Navigators Club, located above Confisco Grille at Islands of Adventure is still open as a UOAP exclusive dining area, and now they’ve decorated for Halloween. Fall leaves and pumpkins decorate the room, as well as a themed “UOAP” image on the screen.
This might be my favorite Jack-o-Lantern in the Navigators Club.
More scrims and scaffolding have gone up around the new lockers for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.
Jurassic World Velocicoaster vehicles are moving right along and scaffolding is down around the rocks.
We recently spotted netting along the coaster track, and now another net has been added along a section of track closer to Hogsmeade.
Landscaping was happening around the construction site too, and we’re excited to see this area starting to get filled in with plants.
That’s all for this visit to the Universal Orlando Resort. Thanks for joining us around the parks today and be sure to stay tuned for more updates!
