PHOTO REPORT: EPCOT 10/6/20 (Plexiglass Added to Friendship Boat Queue, Limited Release Haunted Mansion Pins, Germany Festival Booth Menu Change, and More)

Hello from a hot day here at EPCOT! All thoughts of Fall have been burned from our brains after today’s return to temperatures in the 90s, but we still enjoyed our day checking in on what’s new at this fun park. Let’s get started!

When we arrived, we noticed one thing right away, and how could we not—this crane was large and in charge in the construction area in front of Spaceship Earth. They did lower it later in the day to hide it from view, but we were surprised to see it when we arrived.

In other construction news, the addition to the Future World West restrooms has been painted, and is coming along nicely.

Just outside of the park at the International Gateway, a plexiglass barrier was added to the covered queue for the Friendship Boat. We’ve seen this queue used for a line for temperature screenings, which is what the current social distancing markers are set up in the covered queue for. We suspect this barrier is to aid in the use of space for the line for temperature screenings, especially early in the morning as guests who travel to the park via the Skyliner arrive here and not at the front gate.

We went to check on the newest additions to the Food & Wine Festival booths, but found them closed. Donut Box and Cool Wash will both only be available on weekends, like the Spain and Alps booths.

We checked in at Mouse Gear and found a few items of interest. We found two popular Dooney & Bourke MagicBands available, the Disney Dogs print and the Food & Wine 2020 print. We were warned that there was a very limited quantity of the Disney Dogs, but they seemed to last throughout the day.

We also found this fuzzy youth Spirit Jersey, which seems like it could have been a part of the Arendelle Aqua line, although it wasn’t a part of the original release. It retails for $54.99.

We found a truly impressive sale going on on select dated 2020 pins. These pins, which were regularly $12.99 and $14.99, are now $5.00 each, and are still Buy One, Get One. Regular discounts are still applicable as well, so Disney Vacation Club Members and Annual Passholders can apply their discounts to this already low price.

We found a pretty special Limited Release pin drop which definitely followed us home. These glow in the dark Haunted Mansion themed pins are available at Pin Traders. Take a look at our article for more pictures and pricing details.

While not strictly Disney merchandise, we spotted these cute glass ornaments and magnets in the Italy Pavilion and just had to share. We love the little bows for the Minnie Mouse versions!

We checked in at The Seas Pavilion and found that the shark who had been taken to Disney’s Animal Kingdom last week for veterinary care has been returned! He was hiding under another shark’s tail, so we almost didn’t see him, but we’re glad we spotted him. We hope he’s feeling better!

Around World Showcase, we noticed that the Mexico Pavilion was having its traffic flow monitored, which we normally only see on weekends. We got in line and only waited a few minutes to enter, but it does seem that things are getting busier here.

At the Germany Pavilion, we found a menu change, which seems to be happening often during this Festival. The M.I.A. Beer Company Hugo has been replaced by the Bitburger Premium Pils, which is available in two sizes.

At Block & Hans in the American Adventure, a Beer Flight has arrived. The flight consists of the Orlando Brewing Blonde Ale, the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, Cigar City Brewing Jai Alai, and the Angry Orchard Rose Hard Cider. The flight costs $10.75.

We passed the Mickey & Friends World Tour as we were strolling around World Showcase, and while we love seeing Mickey, we couldn’t help but notice a very important person missing—Minnie Mouse. We’re sure she’ll be back soon, but we missed seeing her smiling face in the meantime!

We’ve found a lot of fun Halloween treats lately, but sometimes you just can’t beat the basics. The Joffrey’s stand in the Canada Pavilion has these fun orange and black colored donuts to get in the Halloween spirit. We love them!

We found a new special sorbet flavor at L’Artisan de Glaces and decided to pair it with a previous favorite. Mango sorbet is now available, along with Raspberry and Piña Colada. Pictured here are Mango and Pina Colada. Don’t tell anyone, but as pretty as the Ice Cream Martini is, we prefer the sorbet by itself!

Les Chefs de France is preparing to open, and has put its new menu on display, along with the opening date and QR code for reservations and additional details. We will be there on October 8th to bring a full review, so stay tuned!

We had a great day at EPCOT, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
