Local 11 Union Issues Statement on 950 Disneyland Resort Cast Members to be Laid Off on November 1

Yesterday, the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products division announced plans to lay off 28,000 Cast Members within its domestic parks, but did not disclose layoffs by individual park locations.

UNITE HERE Local 11 union, which represents Disneyland Resort Cast Members, has issued that approximately 950 of their 3,000 members will be laid off effective November 1.

The union promises to “engage in bargaining with the company over issues including job security and healthcare coverage” and urges that workers call Governor Newsom urging him to sign AB 3216 guaranteeing recall and retention for hospitality workers.

Do note that this does not reflect the total number of Disneyland Resort Cast Members impacted. Layoffs will impact executive, salaried, and hourly roles.
