Even More Guests with Walt Disney World Reservations Asked to Confirm, Modify, or Cancel by Deadline

UPDATE: A number of readers have reached out to us indicating that they too have received the confirmation email, spanning through September reservation dates, with different respective confirmation deadlines.

Walt Disney World recently released a full series of new policies regarding resort housekeeping procedures, transportation, and activities for the upcoming reopening of the resorts, starting with Disney Vacation Club properties and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, which began this week.

With all of these changes, Disney is now asking guests with reservations through July 18 to confirm, modify, or cancel their reservations by July 1.

Guests with reservations receive an email from Disney similar to the one below, albeit with an updated “response requested” deadline reflecting the new July 1 deadline. The screenshot below is from the initial wave of emails:

The deadline for guests with reservations through July 11 is still June 25, or today, so if you have that email sitting in your inbox, now would be a good time to click “Review and Confirm” if you are set on staying at the Most Magical Place on Earth in the coming weeks.

Do keep in mind that you may be moved from a closed to an open resort as needed if you decide to go through with your reservation. As a reminder, Disney Dining Plans are discontinued at this time. If you originally had a ticket package and travel while the theme parks are still closed, your vacation package price will be reduced.

If you find yourself wanting to modify or cancel, Walt Disney World has decided to waive cancellation and change fees on hotel reservations through “the end of the closures.”

  1. Can confirm got one in September 1st trip response due by August 2nd. So this might be a thing going forward.

  2. We got our confirmation questionnaire for our stay mid August, with instructions to respond by July 16 (already responded in the affirmative). So some Aug reservations are already being done, just a heads up.

  3. Articles saying to call Disney to have your park hopper tickets changed and have price adjusted. Hmmm….here’s what I got. Good luck.

In 3 days I have tried to call Disney world over 400 times to change my park hopper tickets to reg. tickets. I have 10 hours of hold time in, and talked to 4 different people. Only to be told each time, I have to speak to someone else in some other dept. I was told that when I changed my June reservations to July, the change was coded wrong. The last person told me this and said my problem was being sent to leadership and it will take a week to a week and a half to hopefully get fixed. This time table puts me right at my 7 day mark to pay for the reservation. The difference is just about 300.00. Am I now suppose to trust I will ever be refunded ? I wish I had cancelled, I’m too far into this now. Guess I just suck it up.

  4. Does anyone have thoughts on why they’re not going to open Riverside or The French Quarter? Those 2 were recently renovated.
