PHOTOS: Half of Ariel’s Closes to Make Room for Beaches & Cream Soda Shop Expansion at Disney’s Beach Club Resort

Just yesterday, we reported that construction walls had gone up around Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Well, it appears construction is well underway, as our latest update on this ongoing project has taught us that nearly half of Ariel’s has been compromised.

Heading inside, guests will first notice that what once was half of Ariel’s (a rental space often used for Disney Fairytale Weddings) is now being used to accommodate Beaches & Cream patrons while construction takes place.

It looks like some changes here are rather permanent, as this black curtain hides a newly erected wall.

Here’s a closer look at the new wall that separates Ariel’s from the new Beaches & Cream dining area.

For reference, here is what this area looked like a few weeks ago, before the wall went up. Use the railing as a point of reference to compare the before and after of this transformation.

Notice that there used to be a really eye-catching China cabinet in this part of Ariel’s.

The Beaches & Cream expansion is also eating up space at The Lafferty Place Arcade next door, meaning the establishment should be expanding quite a bit when all is said and done.

This lengthy expansion was first announced back in Februray, and was expected to take place from August through October. While construction did begin a little later than expected, it appears work is really picking up on this project. The completion timeline is still set for sometime in late 2019, so stay tuned to WDW News Today for additional updates!
