[Editor’s note: This is part two of a guest post by artist and former Disneyland Cast Member Sam Carter. The story and images below showcase the final section of the Disneyland Parade Timeline Mural that Sam painted on the walls of N-19, the backstage Parades building, between 2001-2003. This final section honors the Disneyland Resort’s 50th Anniversary, with several photos of the mural while it was in progress. You can see the rest of the mural, featuring depictions of the many parades throughout Disneyland’s history, in part one. WDWNT.com is pleased to bring you this unique look at the history of Disneyland’s parades and shows through a mural that most Disney fans have never been able to see. Our deep thanks to Sam for this contribution. You can find Sam’s artwork online at SamCarterArt.com and following him on Twitter at @Cartarsauce ]
Just to the right of the finished mural at that point was a nice big blank wall. We were getting ready for the Park’s 50th. So it was the perfect spot to represent the next two big parades, Block Party Bash and Parade of Dreams. And needless to say there are a ton of familiar faces from current (at the time) performers. For this one I enlisted the help of my talented friend Crystal. These two shows, and everything to do with the 50th, meant the world to us. So a lot of TLC went into this section of the wall.
