Tragic news out of Orlando as a Walt Disney World Cast Member passed away on property between the Pop Century Resort and the Waldorf Astoria Golf Course, in what the company is describing as a non-construction related “industrial accident”. An official statement by Walt Disney World President George A. Kalogridis states:
“All of us at the Walt Disney World Resort are deeply saddened today by the loss of one of our Cast Members. Our thoughts and concerns are with his family, friends, and fellow co-workers. This is a tragic accident, and we are providing resources and care for those impacted and are working closely with the proper authorities to understand how this happened.”
A chopper video provided by NBC Orlando reporter Amanda Ober on Twitter shows the scene of the accident being investigated, reporting the OC Police Department received a 911 call around 9:18am to investigate around the Pop Century, only to find an unconscious man in his late 30’s. He was declared dead at the scene by the Reedy Creek PD.
