“The Imagineering Story” Original Soundtrack Released Digitally in Japan

These days, it’s pretty rare to see a soundtrack CD come out of the Disney parks unless it comes from Tokyo. It seems another victim of this exclusivity is the score to the acclaimed Disney+ series The Imagineering Story, released digitally in Japan today.

The Imagineering Story Soundtrack Cover

The score, composed by frequent Michael Giacchino collaborator Jeff Kryka, contains 37 tracks used throughout the award-winning series released on Disney+ last year. Almost every piece used throughout the show is available in this collection, even the introductions from every episode! There’s a few titles with wonderful puns like “Let’s See How This Japans Out” or “Lay of the Disneyland”, but also the Tokyo Disney Resort purist in me can’t help but get upset that one of the tracks is called “Tokyo Disney Seas”. Nonetheless, it’s a lovely collection! Perfect for some background music while you create your own future Imagineering ideas, or just need something inspirational.

The Imagineering Story is streaming now on Disney+. You can read our review of the first episode here. The soundtrack is now streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, and other services in Japan, and is available for purchase on Amazon Japan.
