Even More Resort and Theme Park Cast Members Getting Called In For Work Ahead of July Reopenings at Walt Disney World

UNITE HERE Local 737, a union that represents workers in the Walt Disney World Resorts Food & Beverage and Housekeeping departments, have released an expansive list of additional locations recalling Cast Members for the imminent reopening. The list was released earlier today on the union’s Facebook page, later boosted by Carlye Wisel on Twitter.

Today, Disney will start to call workers to return to the following locations. Some are to return to work on June 28, others are to return on July 5. Disney HR will be informing Cast Members regarding the specific dates they need to return. Cast Members that are not called will remain on furlough until a future wave of recalls.

Before we get into the list, it’s worth noting a few interesting items, such as the fact that previous buffet-style restaurants, like Chef Mickey’s and Biergarten, now state “Family Style”. Also, while In-Room/Private Dining and Room Service will not be offered during the initial reopening window, it is available at two of the resorts housing the NBA. Certain locations listed, like the Electric Umbrella at EPCOT, have long since been closed, but Cast Members may still be getting called in to work at adjacent locations. For guests, this list is not a definitive list of what will be reopened, as that is still subject to change, but it should give you a good idea of what to expect.

Cast Members at the various DVC resorts reopening on June 22 have already received their callbacks, and many have already resumed work, which began on June 14. Select full-time Cast Members can also request a voluntary temporary transfer to another role to return to work faster.

The Cast Member recall comes as a relief to many workers after the massive, unprecedented furloughs that took place shortly after the closure of Walt Disney World. We look forward to seeing them making magic again soon!
