The employee reportedly worked at the location for 2 weeks while sick and has since been on leave. Managers at the location have been informing employees on an individual basis to make them aware of the situation.

At this time, there are no official statements from T-Rex Cafe regarding the reported COVID-19 case.

T-Rex reopened at Disney Springs on May 20 to long lines of guests. The only other Landry’s Restaurants location at Disney Springs, Rainforest Cafe, has yet to reopen at the shopping and dining complex.

  1. Couldn’t be more confused as to how a person who was sick for TWO WEEKS was working???? So much for the protocols. Ugh, this is concerning for my vaca in 2 weeks :(.

  2. Do we really need to know about everyone that tests positive for Covid?it’s bad enough we get a daily figure let alone where all the time. None one wants to catch it and it’s heartbreaking for all the families that have lost people but we need to try and live a new normal until we get that vaccine or some medication that helps.

    • I should also mention that I work with some if these families directly after they left that restaurant…and i have a wife with type one diabetes so.once again…yes.

  3. So.. T Rex wasn’t doing temp checks, etc to insure their employees were “healthy”? Does this mean guests should be notified that a worker was working with covid? Interesting all these drastic measures and things still slip through the cracks..

  4. “Worked for 2 weeks while sick”. Anybody that catches it from them, they should be charged with negligent manslaughter.

    • Not one bit surprised from a Greedy company. I have worked for them in the past and was told on many conference calls not to put specific details in Shiftnotes or any electronic formats as it could be used in a court of law. This was direct quote from Keith Beitler the COO. This company only cares about one thing $$$ they dont give a crap about there employees including there own managers. Marty Sherman

  6. Not one bit surprised from this company. Landrys should be held liable for any new covid cases that customers might get from this. 7. It was the chef. Not a rumor. Third party vendor so not technically Disney but on Disney property. This was actually discussed on Disney cast member private fb groups. Get ready for more of the same when the parks open. Disney managers are already dropping the ball and NOT temperature checking the cast members like they are supposed to be doing. The cast members are already having to hunt down leaders who are hiding in their offices and asking why hasn’t anyone checked their temperatures at the beginning of their shifts. Some locations are following protocol. Many are not. Cast members are confused and terrified of getting spit on by angry guests when the parks do open. Backstage there is no room for social distancing, particularly when clocking in. Many places do not have hand sanitizer available at the computers for clocking in and out when they only have five minutes to do so before a shift. That creates a line with no social distancing. Yes, they have cloth masks and disposable masks. The shields vary from good ones to thinly stapled connected to a plastic band and are a joke. Not all cast members are getting shields unless that changes. Hopefully it will. Costuming “ran out of the quality shields.” Disney is not offering testing for their cast members. Argue what you will but this is not a fake post. I have nothing to gain by posting this. Disney has posted their plan on paper but already is breaking the contract regarding safeguards for the cast members. Cast members are afraid to speak up in fear of losing employment after living through the hellish Florida DEO system. The unions want their money and want everyone to get back to work. Disney wants to make their money.
So, on with the show! Have a Magical Day!🏰
