Disney Offers Complimentary 1-Day Ticket or Event Ticket Exchange Following Extremely Rainy Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Doing a hard-ticket event at Walt Disney World in the pouring rain isn’t a great situation. Spending money on a limited-capacity event, only to be met with modified (or even cancelled) live entertainment and parades, not to mention braving Florida storms hopping from attraction to attraction or having to camp out in a shop or restaurant until it lets up, can ruin what should be a wonderful evening. (And I can personally attest to this, having spent a night at a very rainy Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party once.)

Unfortunately, guests at Tuesday night’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party had to deal with an extremely rainy night at the Magic Kingdom. But to make up for this less-than-ideal situation, Disney made a big attempt to have their guests still leave happy.

According to WDWNT reader Patricia Swift, Disney converted guests’ party tickets to a complimentary 1-day, non-Park Hopper admission to the Walt Disney World theme park of their choice within one year of issuance. However, if they would rather try for an event night with better weather conditions, they can convert the admission to a ticket to a future Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party date in 2019.

Recently, Disney also offered complimentary 1-day park admission (with Park Hopper) to guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios whose boarding groups were not accommodated to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance due to the ride’s heavy downtime on its opening day, along with an anytime FastPass+.

It’s always good when Disney tries to make the guest experience as good as it can be when unforeseen circumstances arise. Hopefully, these guests can take a rainy night and turn it into a day (or night) of great memories.

  1. I had a miserable night at a not so scary party a couple of years ago, it rained almost the whole night. This is very nice of Disney.

  2. Must be nice. We were there on dec 12 in the pouring rain also. Stood in the rain to wait for the parades that were eventually postponed! We actually called before we went to see if the tickets could be exchanged and they told us no.
